Caitlyn Tateishi
Caitlyn Tateishi
Sport: running
Tateishi’s mom, Ali, described her daughter as a couch potato during her early days at Waiakea High.
Something obviously changed along the way for the once middle-of-the-pack runner.
The goal for Tateishi, 30, at Saturday’s Baltimore Marathon was to break 3 hours, and the 2004 Waiakea graduate went out and greatly exceeded her expectations, winning the women’s division in 2 hours, 55 minutes, 42 seconds.
